"Elm tree cottage was the best stay I’ve had in Yorkshire , I visit often and by far the best place I’ve stayed the hosts were lovely and kind and was great to chat too! The location was perfect in a cute little village on a farm close to Thirsk and an easy drive to York. Providing the essentials for cooking and a cozy little cottage too! Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning in the future! "

6/10 Okay

"Hotel is old so expect thin walls and creaky floors. The staff, although friendly, weren’t as attentive as they could have been. The EV chargers didn’t work, so we were stuck without a charge (one of the main reasons for selecting the hotel). When asking the staff about this, they were quite dismissive. A little disappointing. The restaurant has closed down. This was also something we were not expecting, but a nearby pub had good food, so that wasn’t so bad. Really good breakfast."

"Nice central location, rooms clean and very quiet. However the rooms lack space for clothing only a small rail rack, the bed was extremely hard and was not very comfortable. Nice big TV and a fridge in the room and shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion in the bathroom. We did struggle connecting to the hotel wifi. Breakfast was good, nice selection to set you up for the day. Overall a great place to stay for a short stay in York. Parking not on site, but just over the road we used Just Park (pre book) £42 Friday midday to Sunday midday."

"I have a sever peanut and nut allergy and the staff did an excellent job of making sure I felt safe and reassured from the moment I booked the room. All the staff was absolutely lovely and so helpful! Location was also very central to all the touristy stuff which made it excellent after a long day because you didn’t have to walk too far."
