"We expected a manor house estate but we're presented with a modern redbrick hotel, albeit adjacent to a manor house. We booked a standard double. These turn out to be tiny rooms, barely bigger than a standard double bed. No room to move or sit. The cupboard wasn't really big enough to hang more than out coats. It would be fine for a solo business traveller but not for a relaxing break. On the plus side, room was clean and breakfast was good."

"I’ve stayed here 3 times before. The staff are excellent everytime. For some reason everytime I come I get the loudest rooms looking onto walls or roofs, whereas people I’m travelling with get balconies & views onto the courtyard. On this particular stay my room was next to a huge machine that was left on all night. It was incredibly loud & was hard to fall asleep. (To be fair I didn’t mention this to them at the time as it was 11pm & I had an early wake up the next day, so i’m unsure if they could have moved me or not.) On previous stays I’ve woken up at 7.30am to the noise of pickleball being played loudly in the sports hall. This last stay would potentially put me off coming back. It wasn’t a one off so I don’t think I’d want to take the risk again."
