"We stayed here to celebrate our daughters 40th birthday in Bournemouth lovely place to stay felt comfortable and a good location
The bed was so comfortable and we had a view of the sea, room was a good size and bathroom was very clean and modern.
Car parking was good convenient and a good price compared to other parking costs.
Thank you for making it a very special stay."
"What made this property great was the staff. They went above and beyond. Both my fiancé and I enjoyed our stay despite a horrendous drive down on that day. The staff made us feel welcome and catered to our needs.
The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that we weren’t happy with the bathroom. There was little pressure in the shower, the bathroom was dimly lit giving us a headache. We couldn’t wash our hair as the hotel had no hairdryers.
Other than that, close to the sea, and a pretty building"
"Room was clean but dated.
Bathroom was clean and functional.
Good value for money.
Car park busy, but was told in advance.
Local area was nice with decent food within walking distance.
Drinks in the bar were reasonably inexpensive.
I would use this hotel again."
"This is a very well appointed hotel in a convenient location by Bournemouth standards, directly across the street from the Russell Cotes Museum, and a climb up the hill from the pier area.
The spacious rooms are clean and have every amenity you could want, including two fans, which came in handy in July. And enough storage to put away a month's worth of belongings.
The pool area is lovely, we were here a few weeks earlier and there were no chairs out. and no one around. The second time there were no chairs left and the bar was open. So I guess you have to time the pool area just right.
When I arrived early, my room wasn't quite ready so I went to sit in the bar area for a cup of tea. I'm afraid that was not well timed either, the employee was obviously upset about something and was short tempered. Then the other person in the bar had to get a refund from a different employee because what she ordered for lunch had gone off in some way. I didn't hear the whole conversation while I was waiting for my tea. But he gave her a refund and an apology.
Compared to several other large hotels in the immediate area, I would choose the Marshawn again."
"For a 3 star hotel thought excellent. Room was large. Had comfy bed, very clean, tea and coffee supplied. Had a large bath and shower. Hotel was opposite the beach and had a lovely outside pool. Breakfast was buffet style. Had fresh fruit , yogurts, cereals. Cooked breakfast, toast. All hot and very nice."
