I booked this hotel through Expedia for a tour/visit to Radford University for 4/8/17. I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past due to the fact that I am an active alumni, as is my son.
I have never had a problem in the past with this establishment, but I guess a new name means new management.
I flew to Richmond, VA for a funeral the weekend before my scheduled visit to Radford, and my return home in Nashville, TN was to be on 4/5. Due to stormy weather in Atlanta, my flight was cancelled. The next day, my flight was cancelled again, and I was informed that I would not be able to get back to Nashville until Saturday, 4/8, the day I was to be in Radford. I made arrangements for my daughter to be driven to Radford, and I would rent a car to drive from Richmond to Radford. I booked my hotel online a little after midnight on 4/7 and went to bed. The next morning, I was told that due to the # of flight cancellations, there were NO rental cars available. Therefore, I called the New River Inn & Suites to cancel my reservation for two nights. The problem was...NO ONE EVER ANSWERED THE PHONE! I did leave a detailed message as to why I had to cancel and asked the hotel to please return my call. NO NONE EVER DID! I called Expedia and explained my circumstances. They placed me on hold for 10 minutes while they tried to reach the hotel. NO ONE ANSWERED! Bottom line, I WAS CHARGED A NO SHOW FOR THE FULL PRICE OF TWO NIGHTS! You have lost this frequent customer!
