Big Bend hotel rooms a the Independent

"I had stayed at that hotel several times before and it was very good, but on this occasion, the carpet was very dirty and the air conditioning wasn't working properly."

"Some issues but the staff was able to accommodate the problems. First room the ac was out, second room had a clogged sink and clogged shower tub. Very friendly staff for the most part and things happen sometimes so it’s understandable. The overall hotel was clean, and appeared in decent condition. They were quick to attempt repairs. Overall, I would use them again due to the staff and their efforts to correct the issues. I’m sure it was a fluke, and I would not expect this to be a regularly occurring inconvenience. Otherwise it was a nice place at a reasonable price. Well lit parking area with on-site security that actually patrolled. If you’re staying more than a day, I would request more coffee packs in the room, as they only service the room every two days. "
