"Allowed to check in super early which was much appreciated after a very early flight. Went straight to breakfast which was still on - great value and gorgeous. Proper orange juicer, boiled egg machine, fresh raspberries/blueberries & lovely pastries. No 11 bus from airport (€1.30) stops at St Charles le Marne stop just around the corner. You get back on for the airport at the stop just 1 min walk up street St Charles Victoria (one way system). 3 day bus ticket is just €8.60). Beach is end of street 3 minute walk. Shops are 10 min walk same direction then turn left. Room was small but fine. Good quality towels/toilet roll & rictuals shower gel/ shampoo & handwash. If you don't get room cleaned first day you get token for free soft drink/glass of wine - great value/idea. Windows opened fully which was great & air con heated room perfectly when needed (April stay). Sky News & BBC News on telly plus Netflix & ability to cast. Let us keep room on till 3pm last day for free as flight was later. Can't recommend hotel enough. Free sweets in jars in foyers and large umbrellas for use. Really friendly staff. On a quiet street with beautiful houses. Carrefour express & little bakery/chemist & pub just behind hotel, out front door & turn left, turn left just before bus stop opposite church. Walk up past Charlie's pub and swing left. Can't recommend enough! Get airport bus back & get Flix or Blabla car coach to San Sebastián from airport for day trip. "
"Check in at 3pm and check out at noon was easy and seamless with the very helpful and friendly staff who spoke to us effortlessly in English, our native language.
Our room was on the 7th floor with uninterrupted view of the lighthouse, casino and the sea. We had a partial view of the beach too, and caught the occasion glimpse of the plucky surfers riding the waves. Accessing our room was easy with a smooth, fast lift. We always looked forward to returning to our hotel during our stay knowing we had a lovely clean room with a view 'to die for'. Whilst we enjoyed visiting Biarritz and its attractions, our stay in the Mercure President was the 'icing on the cake', for want of a better expression. The Hotel President has an excellent central location with numerous cafes and restaurants to explore nearby, from the local market for a quick breakfast to the iconic Cafe Miramar for dinner. Spoiled for choice on our 2-day break, we never got around to eating in the Mercure President and hence cannot comment on the breakfast, which was reasonably priced from 10 Euros. We would unreservedly recommend a stay at the Mercure President Hotel, and it would be our first choice should we be lucky enough to return to Biarritz in the future.
Sincerely, Alan & Linda"
"This is a tricky one as there were some parts which were truly amazing and other parts which were really bad!
The amazing parts were the location, the service and the breakfast. The rooms were well equipped and had everything we needed as a young family. The staff were very nice and helpful. There was parking which was useful and the location was fantastic. Our daughter loved having a bunk bed in our room. The shower was powerful.
The things which were bad could all be fixed/changed, thankfully. The rooms are not noise proof at all- so you can hear every time someone moves a chair or table, which for reasons I don’t quite understand seemed to be happening constantly (above, or either side of us). I feel sorry for our neighbours as our baby still wakes up in the night so might have woken them up. Some of this could be fixed by adding soft ‘feet’ to the furniture perhaps so you can’t hear when people move the chairs? Finally, the beds were really bad (very very hard)- could perhaps look at adding mattress toppers to them (or have some spare if guests ask)? My back was very painful after the stay here.
The lift was also broken when we stayed which meant it was quite difficult getting in and out with a buggy (as it was in constant use) but these things happen and I think they were in the process of fixing it when we left.
In summary, with a couple of changes the hotel would be fantastic in every way and we really wanted to give a higher rating. It was good value, too. "
"I really liked the hotel. We arrived after the reception was closed and they left us easy instructions to follow. We got a room that led to the beach and the view was fantastic. The room itself had the basics you need for a long stay, they only give you one toilet paper roll and a bottle of soap, so keep this in mind. It has a parking lot 100 Mts away from the reception. Would definitely stay here again."
"Access to the spa is world class, very nice and clean sauna, hammam, and plunge pool.
The room was very nice as well. At the time of my stay there were improvements being undertaken. Never encountered construction noise but evidence of building/remodeling were common. Seemed like a positive sign to me."
