"It was a nice location, but the hotel was dated. To get to a location that had stores and other things to buy you will need to get an uber or a shuttle. However the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and the spa was good. Please keep in mind they do not have air conditioning but you can get fans from the front desk."

"Virtually adjacent to castle wall with underground parking. Medieval vibe throughout well decorated with armor and artifacts. Friendly staff with a wine/port happy hour at 7 and an extensive breakfast buffet included."

"Was a lovely room with extremely nice and helpful staff. Bed was comfortable, shower clean and hot, everything thought of. Breakfast was amazing. Central location with parking on street outside, loved the boat trip to Berlenga. Will recommend hotel to anyone."

"We stayed at The Literary Man during our 2 week honeymoon in Portugal. It was such a unique and fun place to stay. The decor and books everywhere just added to the experience. With it right outside the walls of Obidos, it give you very quick access to everything g that Obidos has to offer plus it was away from the crowds. The staff were amazing and so helpful! The restaurant had great food and drinks! We would stay there again, without a doubt."

"Staff was wonderful, location was excellent, the free bottle of wine was very much appreciated. They said breakfast was not included, but in fact, there was coffee, tea, and a few pastries. The hotel's recommendation to leave our luggage with the vehicle, outside the city walls, and just bring a backpack with overnight necessities made our visit much simpler. "

"The hotel is very good, and the included breakfast is superb .... apparently breads are baked locally every morning. There are plenty free parking space inside the campus. And this would be a good place for cat lovers. The room we had was actually a suite with separate bedroom and a sitting area. However, the furnishing is minimal which could do better. The only concern we have is the hotel's location. Do not follow the Google Map direction, which might point you to a different location. The hotel is actually located out of nowhere, quite hidden from the main roads or any attractions."
