"Vi hadde et veldig hyggelig opphold. Leiligheten ligger i et koselig tyrolerhus på en gård med hund, katt, høner i alle farger, hane, gjess og kyr som gikk rundt huset. Verten var veldig hyggelig, og det var mulig å kjøpe brødvarer, fersk melk og andre gårdsprodukter som ble levert utenfor døren om morgenen. Vi fikk tilgang til et turistkort som ga oss gratis tilgang til gondoler, busser og aktiviteter i området. Det var ikke basseng tilgjengelig ved huset. Flott sted å reise til for en familie...

"Restaurant staff were very abrasive and not helpful. Refused to order at at the bar, instructed to sit and they would come. Waited 20mins no menu went to another hotel around the corner and they were really good for dinner and friendly. The hotel itself receptionist was very helpful though. Hotel = Good. Restaurant = Below average. Dragged down by service staff."

"Hotel staff was nice and friendly. Room was clean, room furniture was average, Toilet amenities were average, balcony was a nice touch and relaxing, we used the indoor pools which was not heated, outdoor pool was overcrowded. Parking lots are gravel not paved, on busy day parking problem is possible, The campus landscape is well maintained, and very relaxing. Breakfast was very good with lot of options, very enjoyable. However, there is no AC in the rooms. so on a very hot summer day it may be unpleasant. They also dont have elevators which may not be a big deal. Overall our experience of staying at this hotel is good and pleasant."

"Remember to greet everyone you meet; you are in Europe so bring your own washcloth if you need one at home! Bus 160 gets you to and from Salzburg and guest mobility card pays for your ride! Have fun!"

"This is an excellent hotel for its price point! I felt like I got a lot of value for what I paid. The rooms are clean though no frills. The staff is helpful and attentive. The spa was clean and nice, although it is only open for four hours in the evenings. If you are used to some of the more premium hotel/spas in the Berchtesgaden area, you won’t be impressed. That said, the fact that the Explorer had one, didn’t charge extra for it, and kept it very clean is a huge plus for me. The breakfast was fantastic, although go early if you want to partake in the DIY egg stations. I went in the summer, and you absolutely can’t beat where the location. A quick 10 minute walk to either the Konigssee or Jennerbahn. I literally was busy from the moment I got there on Friday afternoon to the moment I left on Monday morning. I highly recommend the Explorer for those looking for the Berchtesgaden experience without breaking the bank."

"Lovely, clean, quiet hotel. We stayed there prior to a visit to Eagles Nest, which was a short drive from there. There is a nice bar next door, which was convenient for food. We stayed in room 1 on the ground floor and were initially worried that it would be noisy in the morning as it was right next to the entrance to the kitchen. We didn't need to be as we didn't hear a thing, despite the breakfast room being quite busy when we went in. There was a good choice for breakfast. No air conditioning so the room was a bit warm."
