Beaufort hotel rooms a the Independent

"The breakfast was enough if you like what they have. Little biscuits were good with several choices of jam which was great. That bacon one day and maybe sausage the other. They always had a yogurt parfait section of a simple. Everybody seemed to eat at the same time so it was tough for them to keep up with demand, but it did feel like they put care into everything they did and made. "

"I didn't eat any breakfast but parking was fairly easy, no issues. The shower was a bit small and the shower stall could have stood some scrubbing. There was a spill that looked as if it had dried up beside the bed. The bed was uncomfortable and we woke up with back pain. The night stand or the stand next to the bed had a bit of rust on it. Overall the location was decent but some people above of were noisy for a while but i didn't report it. The towels and wash clothes were clean but small. "

"The hotel is apparently woefully under staffed. The front desk people were very friendly but at 4:30 p.m. they had no rooms ready and I gathered from the phone calls coming in, that there was no maintenance staff on duty. The bed was just Ok but the room was spacious and very clean when we were finally allowed access."

"Parking was 100 Staff were 100 and Staff was super helpful only bad part was the owners negligence of their staff and property staff was over worked out manned and had nothing in their favor pool was dirty and ill managed and hot tub also cold had to get the warmers put on mold everywhere no working ventilation in bathroom the air conditioning was all molded up you could smell it through out the property there was even a guest who worked for the NY building inspectors who had threatened to get the property shut down what’s crazy is that they make money off of all the friends and Family of USMC and all other Military in the Area and they don’t take care of their property again staff was very good and helpful the people to Blame are the Property owners or management team staff can only work with what they got"

"Staying at this historic hotel was an absolute delight. The property itself is full of charm, with beautiful preserved details. From the warm welcome we received from Emma to the wonderful breakfasts served each morning, nearly every aspect felt special. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making for the perfect getaway. The hosts clearly take great pride in maintaining the property while ensuring the guests are comfortable. The only area that could use a bit of improvement would be the cleanliness of the room. While it was not a major issue, a more thorough cleaning would have made our stay flawless. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a charming and memorable stay. "
