"Nice room. No breakfast. Convenient next to freeway if you're on a route to get somewhere (we were). We had a couple of noise issues. The people upstairs were very loud (sounded like moving furniture). I called the office at 10 pm and they said they would call. After a loud boom, it did quiet down, then there were more noises at 11, midnight and 1 am. Not the hotel's fault but annoying. The other issue was that our room was one with a connecting door to the room next door and the soundproofing was poor. The family next door wasn't loud, but we could hear them nevertheless. Ate breakfast at Sandy's restaurant just across the parking lot, very good food."
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites San Jose-Morgan Hill by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"The entire building has a clean scent. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Fast food is within walking distance, and the 101 close proximity makes it ideal for getting to San Jose. Breakfast is very good. I loved the scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy, turkey patties, and the warm cinnamon rolls!
The only thing that I wasn't able to use was the pool. It looked a bit cloudy, not clean.
Check-in and out was quick and easy. Staff was friendly and welcoming!"
"First room, the toilet didn't flush. had to change to another room. The second room did not have a trash can in the bath room and no cups, also only had one bath towel. Has to go back to the office to get more towel and cups."
Hayes Mansion, San Jose - Curio Collection by Hilton
6/10 Okay
"We loved the history of the mansion and the grounds. However, the staff didn't seem to be able to handle all of the guests and events happening at the same time very well. There was a wedding party at night that was so loud that my friend had to move her room after being told by staff that it would be over at 10 pm (when we got back to the hotel) then changed it to 11 pm but it was still very loud. While most of the staff was nice and helpful, the breakfast crew and setup was extremely disappointing. We only stayed one night and went to get coffee at the restaurant at 9 am and found a continental breakfast which was surprising because the website indicated a $15 charge. When we asked the staff for the price, they said it depended on our package. Okay that's fair. We tried to find a bagel, croissant or toast and there was nothing but a few scraps. We asked the staff if they would replenish them and they said "sure" then walked away and never replenished or returned. Also, the parking had alot to be desired because of the two weddings that day that were filled up with guests and caterers. We will stay somewhere else next visit."
