Top Beach Cities San Diego County Hotel Reviews

Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego Airport/Liberty Station
10/10 Excellent
"Great location— liberty Station is a beautiful and unique area with lots of interesting shops and places to eat. The hotel itself was perfect for our six nights stay with three people. The daily breakfast was amazing and was different every day. The place felt clean and well-maintained. And best of all, it was very quiet at night! Oh, one more thing… The bed wasn’t bouncy or the sort of bed that moves a bunch when another person rolls over. That alone is worth so much!"

Comfort Inn Sea World Area

"For the price, this hotel was perfect! The room looked newly remodeled and everything was clean. The staff was also very helpful and nice. Some small things though: 1. The breakfast line took about 30 minutes to get through at 8:30am. It might help to put the waffle maker at the beginning of the line so you can immediately skip the people waiting for it, or put it at a different station so it doesn't hold up the line. 2. The parking spots in the outside lot were a little too small, so many people parked over the line, essentially taking up two spots. 3. Our room was on the first floor, and when other rooms flushed the toilet or shower, the pipes made a loud sound in our room, which startled us a few times. 4. The area outside of the hotel grounds was a little sketchy at night."

The Dana on Mission Bay
8/10 Good
"The rooms were clean, the price was great, and the marina view was beautiful. Considering the cost, it was an excellent value. We also appreciated the amenities, especially having an ice machine available, which was very convenient. One thing to note is that while the hotel is on the water, there is no direct beach access for swimming. It’s a great spot to enjoy the view, but not if you’re expecting a swimmable beach. Our biggest disappointment was an incident at the bayside pool. A guest apparently defecated in the pool, and although children immediately began yelling that there was poop in the pool, it took approximately 5–10 minutes before staff asked everyone to exit. Two staff members came to inspect the situation after guests alerted them. What was even more concerning was that the pool appeared to reopen just a few hours later. We were unsure what procedures were followed to properly disinfect the pool before allowing guests back in, which raised concerns about sanitation and safety. Overall, we enjoyed our stay because of the clean rooms, beautiful marina views, and good value. However, the handling of the pool contamination incident left us disappointed and made us question the hotel’s response to guest safety."

Wyndham Garden San Diego Near SeaWorld

"Well for one thing there was only one ice machine out of the whole property that worked and you had to use a key to use the stairs to go up but the key did not work on any of the stairs so you always had to use the elevator to go up you could use stairs to go down though but you couldn't get back in after you went out and the power kept going off in our room because everything was plugged into one outlet The microwave TV lights. Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton San Diego SeaWorld Near Old Town

"Everything was great, including staff, amenities."

San Diego Mission Bay Resort
10/10 Excellent
"We had a great stay. The rooms and pool staff was great. Check out was a bit crowded but staff over the phone was good the next day for all docs needed. I would recommend this place because the location is close to all attractions and is a stand alone resort. Only about a 20 minute drive to anywhere you wanna go. Parking was a little bit steep at $47 a night along with the resort fee at $47 a night. Seemed a bit much. Next time I will not rent a car I will just Uber. Parking in the city is very expensive at $15 for two hours unless your street side which is 7.50 for two hours. I estimated I could’ve saved at least $500 if I would Uber for four days."

La Jolla Shores Hotel

"Great place. If you need anything ask. The staff are always helpful. Thanks for making my stay a great experience. Looking forward to make this a regular stay location when I visit the San Diego area."
