Historic Downtown Baton Rouge

Historic Downtown Baton Rouge brings Louisiana's rich past to life with Gothic spires and stately architecture. The Mississippi River creates a stunning backdrop for Capitol Park Museum and the Shaw Center for the Arts. Elegant mansions and government buildings showcase the city's cultural heritage across brick-lined streets. The compact district makes it easy to discover museums, live music venues, and scenic riverfront parks.

Spanish Town Historic District

Spanish Town Historic District is Baton Rouge's oldest neighborhood, dating back to 1805. Colorful Creole cottages and historic buildings line the quiet streets under massive oak trees. The area's bohemian spirit comes alive during its famous Mardi Gras parade, where pink flamingo decorations have become a beloved local symbol. The tree-lined sidewalks make exploring this charming residential area easy and pleasant. Arsenal Park offers a peaceful retreat amid the historic surroundings. Visitors appreciate the authentic local cafes serving traditional Louisiana cuisine and the relaxed community atmosphere away from the city's commercial bustle.

Mid City North

Mid City North offers an authentic slice of Baton Rouge living with tree-lined streets and traditional Louisiana homes. The neighborhood's raised porches and weathered wood siding tell stories of local heritage. Community parks provide peaceful green spaces to relax and unwind. This budget-friendly area sits just minutes from downtown attractions. Scattered local eateries serve genuine Cajun and Creole dishes at reasonable prices. Visitors appreciate the quiet residential atmosphere and authentic Southern hospitality that makes Mid City North feel like home.

South Baton Rouge

South Baton Rouge blends college-town energy with peaceful residential charm. LSU's campus forms the heart of this area with its stately buildings and famous Tiger Stadium. The scenic LSU Lakes offer a beautiful 2-mile walking loop where locals jog beneath Spanish moss-draped oaks. Shopping enthusiasts will appreciate Perkins Rowe and Mall of Louisiana for retail therapy. Outdoor lovers can explore Hilltop Arboretum's native plants or practice their swing at Topgolf. The neighborhood strikes a perfect balance between academic buzz and southern hospitality.

Garden District

When in Garden District, you can plan a visit to Red Dragon Listening Room and Gayosa Park, some noteworthy sights in the nearby area.

"Room was very clean but shower floor needed a bit of scrubbing. Lobby was well designed and very clean. Sheets and comforters were very nice but a little crispy (industrial laundry machines I figure). Small but nice gym on 4th floor adjacent to very nice 4th floor outdoor patio with a sweet view of the surrounding downtown area. Hotel had 2 e-bikes equipped with locks and helmets made available to guests, which we took advantage of to cruise around the area and into the LSU campus zone. Parking was on street just outside of hotel and it was a breeze, but not sure It would go if the hotel was fully booked but we had no problem finding parking for either night of our stay. Hotel felt just about right for value. Downtown area felt like a ghost town. Not related to hotel but wow! Eerie…."
