Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the Old Town and sink your toes into the pebbles and sand on Banje beach for some well-deserved rest. Cast away your stress at this scenic beach as you appreciate the views of Lokrum Island and Dubrovnik’s old port. If you're lucky, you may even spot a celebrity lounging about, as the beach is a hotspot for the rich and famous.
Lay back on a rented lounger or four-poster bamboo bed and chill out as music plays in the background from the Eastwest bar and café that overlooks Banje. Book a beach massage here and sip a cocktail as expert digits untangle the knots in your tired muscles.
The crystal clear waters just off the shore are great for taking a dip. Marine life is aplenty, so don't forget to rent a snorkel and swim with the fish.
As you while the day away, you will notice locals playing the traditional Croatian ball game of picigin. Feel free to kick off a game of your own. Usually played in shallow water, the objective of the game is to pass the ball around but never to let it touch the ground or the water.
As the day whittles to an end and the skies darken, Eastwest lights up with a busy restaurant and nightclub frequented by models, sportsmen and women, and celebrities. Dine on Mediterranean cuisine in the chic, first-floor restaurant, where your taste buds will delight in a range of dishes made from locally sourced seasonal ingredients. After dinner, check in at the nightclub and dance to the latest music mixes by local and international DJs.
Banje Beach is situated in front of Ploče Gate, the eastern entrance to the Old Town. Walk through the gate for about 90 metres and you will arrive at the beach. The beach’s facilities include showers and toilets.
