The food was amazing here. The property was so cute and quaint. The staff were very nice and I absolutely loved the décor. Would love to stay again!
This was an amazing place to stay! The room we had was lovely. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The restaurant was spectacular. Not only was the food amazing but the atmosphere was also enhanced by the presence of wonderful canine friends! We will absolutely come back as soon as we can!
Luxury Cotswolds Experience, worth every penny!
Every second that we spent at The Double Red Duke Inn was lovely. The staff was kind, welcoming, knowledgeable, and helped add that special touch to the experience that made it truly memorable. (Special shout out to Flossy at reception!)
The downstairs rooms are the stuff Cotswolds dreams are made of with a special selection of books available for guests to browse. Even though it rained while we were staying here we enjoyed our time in the rooms, ordered some tea and coffee from the restaurant, and were perfectly comfortable.
The restaurant of the Inn is some of the best food we have had in the entire country. We tried to order as many dishes as we could while staying there as the food was delicious, flavorful, and a great mix of both English dishes and more internationally recognized cuisine. We had breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the restaurant as we were so in love with it!
We had a "family room" suite which has a large and comfortable bed and two single beds (also very comfortable!) for two adult family members. The room had a beautiful view of the meadow and the church across the way. There were some cookies/biscuits and french press coffee in the amenities which we took full advantage of.
The Inn itself is nestled in a rural part of the town next to a meadow with easily accessible walking paths. If you are looking for a Cotwolds experience this place is like a dream!
Highly recommend!
-There is no hot water for the night we stay. Can not take a shower
-call reception to fix the shower problem, reception said they will check the boiler. waited for 40 mins, no response, nobody answer the phone call since. Then I release the reception is closed. Nobody follow up our shower issue.
- was told we are getting some discount for the room due to the shower issue. We were given the full bill with out discount at check out- £200 for a medium room (too small to fit a travel cot), and a room without hot water for shower!
A bit ridiculous service.
Excellent hotel with very friendly staff. Food was excellent service spot on.
Really enjoyed our stay and if back in area will not hesitate to book up again.
We had a great time there for our wedding anniversary the everning meal was fantastic we had our own dining room just for the 6 of us, oh yes and the gin was great.
En general estupendo el lugar. Jardines hermosos.

short break in cotswolds
a pleasant setting for a short break although walking in Clanfield is very limited and hazardous.Good base for touring area (Oxford,Blenheim Palace and of course The Cotswolds). Hotel comfortable and food tasty albeit a bit pricey for my pocket, but maybe not for the area. Overall a good break and a refresher for ourselves.
My stay st the Plough hotel was very pleasant. Very friendly staff, great food, an amazing Gin bar. Back to the staff they were very accommodating, nothing since to be a problem, welll organise and very helpful. Thank you all. V
Great stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was rustic and full of charm but with modcons. The gin pantry was overwhelming but the bar man made helpful recommendations. Food was delicious.
Quiet hotel, staff nice but never anyone on reception. If you don't like Gin very limited bar which surprised me for a hotel. Overall comfortable room but had better in the area for the same price. Needs a bit of update no comfortable seating area inside for residents
The plough is an idyllic country hotel in the cotswolds. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were delicious. We'd love to go back and stay at this hotel again particularly to sample a couple more of the hundreds of gins they have available!
From start to finish, it was a very good experience. We did the gin testing, which was great, and followed that with an excellent meal in the restaurant. The room was lovely, and bed very comfy.
We stayed for 1 night on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis. We wanted a quiet break in comfortable surroundings - and everything about this hotel (accommodation, location, staff, food) exceeded our expectations. Our bedroom was spacious, clean and well equipped, with a lovely view of the garden. We enjoyed an excellent meal in the evening, the service being unhurried but not inattentive, and the food delicious. Breakfast in the morning was equally satisfying. Had we been gin-enthusiasts, that would have added to the enjoyment of our stay, I am sure. The surrounding villages are beautiful and there are plenty of interesting places to visit within easy reach.
Stayed in Room 1. Clean and pleasant even though no wow factor.
Service here is excellent, good beers and a great selection of Gins at the bar.
Its the Restaurant that takes the plaudits.... Wonderful food!
Very good location for southern Cotswolds.
I'd not hesitate to return.
Nice room, good food. Lovely people. Bathroom could do with a refresh

Nice Hotel with Friendly Staff
Parking is a little tight, but I found a space and the car was safe. The hotel is a little tired looking but it was clean.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
