The kitchen staff was the only redeeming feature, they were nice and the breakfast was at least edible. We were charged $3k USD on arrival for a room that was terrible as the owner deliberately cancelled our booking by Expedia and then held the room to ransom. He said the hotel had changed hands and name and therefore we needed to pay the updated amount. As we were in Baku for the F1 we had no where else to go which the owner knew. Other customers were also told the same thing upon arrival while we were at reception. It was just a con. The room was terrible, ripped sheets, dirty mattress, mouldy and broken shower, vanity not fixed to the wall, toilet stopped working luckily on the last morning so we couldn’t flush it and the receptionist said they hadn’t paid the water bill. The A/c also didn’t work properly only stayed at 25C and the fridge never worked. Ceiling leaked in the bathroom from the room above. The owner was rude and very disrespectful to us.

This cozy hotel was very great. Absolutely Mr. Mehman very careful about guest. It was amazing stay with this historical area. Especially recommend to everyone!
