Kansai Airport Washington Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The location is convenient from the airport and for trains to Osaka and beyond. The hotel provides a shuttle from the airport and will reserve your shuttle at the best time for your departure. A convenience store in house is well provided and even had vegan milk for my early morning in room coffee. The breakfast buffet was awesome, whether you prefer western style or Japanese (my preference) and the self check in and check out is easy with a helpful staff member there to guide you as well. Of course everything is spotlessly clean and my room was spacious and inviting. The price is unbelievably low for such a luxurious experience. Five stars doesn’t come close to describing this hotel. I give it my highest recommendation."

Seaside Hotel Maiko Villa Kobe

"Amazing view from the room of the Akashi Kaikyou bridge and fantastic breakfast buffet with both western and Japanese food. Luxury communal bath was also fantastic and appreciate it being open late with spa quality soap, shampoo, conditioner and a few lotions and cleansers. Peaceful location in mostly residential area but close enough by train to Tarumi, Akashi, Kobe and Himeji which all offer lots of dining and shopping options as well as sightseeing. Room amenities included pajamas, slippers all necessary toiletries, hair dryer, small fridge, electric kettle, cofee, tea, and bottled water. 10 min walk from Maiko station is a little uphill and may be tough in the summer heat with luggage, but short taxi ride is also an option from the station. There is an elevator that will get you up the final hill to the hotel, which may be hard to spot for first time visitors, so be sure to google the entrance elevator to find it."

"This is a moderately priced all inclusive type resort with good views that is very popular with Japanese families with young children. Most people drive. The half board option is good because you get great breakfast and dinner buffets. I was reminded of the buffets in Las Vegas. The food is a big selection of Awaji specialties, Japanese food, and many international dishes, as well as beer and other drinks. This is a very crowded hotel. Line queue registration is used to manage entry to the buffet area. This is not a secluded, quiet resort. The spacious onsen includes a big outdoor bath and a big relaxation area with drinks. The onsen staff manages it very well. The main attraction in this area is the Naruto whirlpools. Public transportation is limited to buses. So you come here for the hotel and the whirlpools."
