There is construction at both the front and back entrances (which is going amazingly quickly!) and the communication about where to park, how to enter the building, etc. was very helpful. The location gives very quick access to the main part of the village. We had a double bed room and it was very small and getting a bit tired in terms of decor and maintenance (the closet door fell off every time we opened it). There was no desk at all and no chair in the room, which isn't ideal for business people. There was a door to the adjoining room which was not much of a sound barrier - we could hear people talking at a normal volume. If we were to stay there again, we might choose a full suite so there is room for two people and two suitcases.

In the center of the village

Great location , comfortable room. A little surprised that we were up a flight of stairs from the entrance door ( isolated bedroom / bath of a larger condo) . Good value for the GREAT LOCATION

The unit we were given at the St James did not have Air Conditioning, this was not communicated on the Hotels.com property listing, Vail properties was able to move us to the Pines Lodge. The Unit at St. James was very dated and not cleaned properly, dirt in corners of bathroom, mirrors, ect...

Terrible stay

Experience was not great. The toilet broke every day for the first 3 days with the manager telling us we do not know how to flush the toilet correctly. Finally the right technician came in and fixed it with 1 day left on our stay. Room was 90 degrees with them telling us to turn down the t stat (which was turned off). Manager does not even have her vmail set up if that is any indication of how they run the hotel.

Rental management is disorganized and confusing. The property has multiple rental management groups which are not connected and do not communicate with each other. Front desk staff is not helpful at all and after 5pm has no authority to help customers with accommodation requests or issues… prices are extremely high for the poor service provided by the staff

the location was excellent because you could walk to all the resort had to offer and you were right in the middle of the action, skiing, skating, dining, swimming, shopping etc. were all outside your door...close to town and easy to get in and out of the resort and to travel east or west on rt 70!!!

Its a gorgeous property in a great location. However, this unit had no views and had a couple minor things that needed to be repaired (such as a refrigerator that ran all the time and a small problem with two of the wood blinds.)

Overall very good

The hotel is in a very convenient location in Beaver Creek, just steps away from shops, restaurants and the slopes. Overall the hotel and amenities are very good. Hence why I'm a returning guest. The condo where my family and I stayed was in very good condition, with nice decor and had everything we needed. However, I do have to point a little annoyance, and that is that the mattress and pillows of the master bedroom were a bit uncomfortable and not on par with what I'm used to in this category of hotels. Altogether, I highly recommend this place.

Don't stay at the St. James

I would never stay at this property again. The guy at the front desk was clueless. I was given a key to a room that was occupied. When I returned to the front desk to get reassigned, he was puzzled because "his computer said the room was cleaned". He also said there were washer dryers in the room, but there were not. While housekeeping was helpful, the sheets were "scratchy" and the beds uncomfortable.

The unit we were originally booked into had no air conditioning (owner disabled it), no deck, and was in need of updating. After talking to manager we were upgraded to a very nice unit. Have rented at St James Resort multiple times in the past. We will book there again and again. A perfect place to stay during Octoberfest!

Beaver creek is amazing and our condo was nice. It wasn’t a great view and a bit of a walk up and down stairs to get to the slopes. It’s a great place for extra room but not as convenient as I had hoped.

Good hotel to spend a few days at

We were in Beaver Creek for a convention and stayed at the ST James, this is the fourth time we have stayed there. The hotel is right at the village centre and convenient to everything. The rooms are large and comfortable as is the living area with a nice view of the mountain and a well set up living area with comfortable lounges and big TV.
