Eastern Alabama’s third-largest city, Auburn, is a welcoming, fun-loving place, with popular university sports teams and a rich culture of art and performance.

Join thousands of fans cheering on the Tigers and enjoy Auburn’s fine parks, museums and gardens.

Auburn is a town devoted to its university sports team the Jordan-Hare Stadium is where the action takes place. Take in a game and cheer along with over 80,000 others. Join fans for a night out in the lively town center to dine on hearty American cuisine and listen to live music in one of the many excellent venues.

For a quieter outing, enjoy a trip to the university-funded Donald E. Davis Arboretum. Here, explore a fantastic collection of plant life. Take a guided tour for an educational viewing of a number of plants and trees native to Alabama.

Part of the university, the Jules Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art offers a detailed look at American modernism from the 19th century onward. More than 1,500 pieces make up the permanent collection. Be sure to investigate whatever temporary exhibition is showing, as these often include some of the best art from across America.

Also in the town center, the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center showcases Auburn’s creative side. Learn a new skill in one of the many workshops. As well as providing tutoring, the facility houses an extensive gallery and theater. Ask inside for performance times.

Explore the history of the local area when you take a trip to Pebble Hill. Here you will discover a traditional, pre-Civil War plantation house with original architecture and furnishings, offering a glimpse of America in the early 1800s.

If you don’t have your own transportation, use the town’s bus service, which will take you around all the main sights. The climate is subtropical, with mild winters and hot, humid summers, making Auburn an excellent place to visit any time of year.
