Excellent location a short walk from the cathedral. Stayed one night while doing the Camino. Would have loved to stay longer and explore Astorga more.

Disliked: Staff & service
It was great on entrance BUT room could do with refresh esp bathroom and SPA is not included in price you need to pay extra and buy a bathing cap Location was very good
Location was great. Walking distance to all historic places of interest and shopping. Clean and spacious. I just wish the glass bathroom door would close. It lacked privacy when sharing a room with 2 other family members. The cafe downstairs was great, and the lady at the cafe was super friendly.
We only stayed one night as we were walking the Camino. We got a friendly welcome. The room was lovely and comfortable. We did go to the restaurant for dinner, but it was quite expensive and the menu del dai sign was removed in the evening, so we ate elsewhere.
Very central, right on the Camino. We’d stay again.
The room and accommodations were comfortable, clean and the blackout curtains helped to have a good night’s sleep.
The highlight for me was the massage with Jose! After several days of walking, he knew exactly what to hit in order to help me walk normal again. Highly recommended!!!!
The Hotel sells itself as a 4-star spa hotel but in my view it is regrettably neither!
From a 4-star hotel you would expect a level of equipment (e.g. bathrobe, slippers, courtesy kits, spotless clean rooms) and service (friendly, multilingual and efficient) that Hotel Ciudad de Astorga does not meet: no bathrobe, no slippers, I asked a sewing kit but it was not available. The room in itself is large and with a very comfortable bed, but the wall painting is peeling off and some light did not work and was very dusty. Service as well was unfriendly (at check in) or had problems in speaking an adequate level of English.
From a spa hotel you would expect that the guests have free and unlimited access to the spa, while here it must be booked, it is limited to 75' and is charged a whopping €22 per person!
So in reality this is not a spa hotel but rather a hotel with a spa and even 3 stars would look generous!
Breakfast in the morning was not that of a 4-star hotel.
Not recommended.
The hotel is located conveniently in close proximity to everything.
Beautifully serene environment inside. Wonderful staff who were very helpful with everything we needed.
Excellent location, very clean, and a lovely little spa pool with jets, a hot tub, saunas, etc. Lots of dining options are an easily walkable distance, as is at least one grocery store. Would absolutely stay here again
Pleasant stay, but breakfast could be a lot better
Our room was nice and spacious, and the bed was pretty comfortable. The only minor complaint we have about the room is that the tub separator wasn't really effective and water leaked after each shower that the floor was pretty wet. The breakfast was also subpar for a 4 star hotel. The selection was limited, and there was rotting fruit sitting among the rest, and some sad looking packaged pastry. The coffee was also very mediocre. We don't recommend paying extra for the breakfast.

It wasn’t up to “boutique” standards and definitely wasn’t a “spa” lol. Having a pool doesn’t make you spa!! It offered no services except I think you could schedule a massage.
I couldn’t open the window in my room nor access the a/c. The employees were not able to help me. No maintenance worker on shift.
Someone’s socks were left in my room.
