"Absolute gem of a place with stand out friendly staff, amazing location. Our room even had a view of St Peter’s basilica which was beautiful at sunset. When we return to Rome we’d happily choose Mama Shelter again. The pizzeria was excellent (service not superb in there but pizza was great). There are some great food options around the area, we ate a typical Roman breakfast opposite Cipro Metro station. There’s a Carrefour (make sure you get a discount card as this can save you a fair bit), and Cococ was excellent a few strides out of the door, for a breakfast also (they do evening meals there). We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel, it was quite pricey at €22 each - you can get a lot more in this Prati neighbourhood for much less "

"Decent breakfast. Shower was good. Terrible beds, super hard. Terrible flat pillows. Paid €800 for three nights and they can’t provide decent pillows or beds??! Would not recommend. Staff was nice. "

"Air conditioner work. Staff was rarely available. Had to ask for fresh towels and according to a staff member sheets were cleaned every 3 days. It’s a few minutes from the Vatican great walking area and close to restaurants and shopping area. "

"Very nice hotel away from the hustle and bustle of central Rome. Shuttle downtown is a great perk. Lobby bar is a great place to socialize and relax. The location of the hotel allows walking to neighborhood restaurants, shops and a small market. Very nice hotel and a very nice stay."
