"Clean rooms, great air conditioning. Nice pool. Evening entertainment was fine. staff not very friendly, specially restaurant staff started fooling around with us when they ran out of cutlery during chaotic breakfast hour. Upon raising voice with couple of them they got it out from their stash they were sitting on. Not pleasant, felt racism at one point."

"This hotel has changed ownership and was renamed The Baikour Roses. While our reservation was not transferred over from the old owners, after showing the staff our confirmed and pre-paid reservation paperwork, they found a way to get us into a room that matched the reservation. The hotel has shifted to an all-inclusive format and we were given the full treatment even though our reservation only included breakfast. The meals were very reasonable. But, I have significant food allergies and that challenged the staff. Many of the meats were pork based, which was a problem for my wife who must limit her pork consumption. The hotel’s location is excellent and served as our home base while we drove our rental car all around the area to see the historic highlights and to visit the Dali home and workshop in Portugal. Our room had a significant mildew problem around the air conditioning vent. And we had a flaky room lock that was difficult at times to unlock. Housekeeping did a wonderful job cleaning our room before we occupied it. But it will take significant work to fix the mildew problem. We will recommend this hotel with the assumption that the new owners will address the problems we’ve described given enough time. The hotel is already much better than previous reviews have described."

"What a gem of a find! Casa de l albada is a credit to Karen and Gabriella who provide the most peaceful and comfortable level of accommodation you could hope to find. We stayed for 6 nights and everything was perfect from the amazing views to the beautifully prepared and tasty vegan breakfasts. Karen is such a wonderful host and we enjoyed chatting with her and the other guests over breakfast. Karen is so accommodating and shares her space with guests allowing use of kitchen and communal areas which felt very homely. You will need a car as the villa is on a hill but it only takes minutes to drive into Roses town. I would recommend a stay here for anyone wanting something different from your run of the mill hotel stay. We would hope to return again as this area of Costa brava is well worth exploring more. Thank you for being such hospitable hosts and hope to visit again!"
