Location is Superb. Cleanliness is very good. I booked smoking room (because non-smoking room was full. So, i messaged to the hotel, please well clean the room because i have children stay with. They clean the room very well. I didn’t smell any smoking, Thanks to all staff.

Nice, but uncomfortable bed.

Hotel is located in a good spot close to station and away from busy main streets. It was clean and quiet with a friendly staff. My only issue was the bed is extremely uncomfortable. There was little cushioning to the point laying on my side my ribs starting hurting resulting in a lot of tossing and turning.

Simple room with convenience.

Very simple room with a view of a small section of the city, which is larger than other business hotel in Tokyo. Very close to the train station and main street, less than 2 minutes walk. Staff are very accommodating and communicate via translation apps. Overall good experience with the chain.

Close to JR Aomori Station, Furukawa and Auga Markets. Typical Toyoko Inn hotel, small rooms but clean. Free breakfast was great! Could hear guests in other rooms talking very loud.

I liked that the hotel was close to the JR train station. There were eating options nearby, but there seemed to be very few actual grocery stores, just convenience stores. The area also seemed to be somewhat run down. But again, the hotel itself was good, and the breakfast was good.

Very clean and good location. Bed was very uncomfortable (very hard mattress and roughly filled pillow, not soft at all). Ventilation system blasted the entire night and couldn’t be turned off. Refrigerator compressor turned on at random times. I could hear neighbouring rooms’ phones vibrating. Breakfast serviceable, but often out of food.

Good business hotel with average breakfast.

The location was great if your arriving by train as the station is just 100m away, however I arrived by ferry so had to take a short taxi ride for ¥1700. My room had a partial view of the bridge and the port was towards the left of the bridge. There was sufficient room to move around and store your bags with a desk across one wall with a phone, writing pad, a chair and a mini fridge under it. There was no wardrobe but a hanger stand with some hooks and hangers. Bed was large and quite comfortable, the bathroom was average sized with a shower over the small bath tub. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment as it was in the foyer just across from reception, a bit strange as there were people checking out on one side and people dining next to them. It was a small area as well with common shared tables. The buffet didnt have a good selection of items either with no cereal, fruit or yoghurt.

We had high hopes for this hotel in Aomori. The staff were great as was the positioning of it to the major sites, transport & great food options. However, as seasoned travellers with many years of hotel experiences we finished our 2-night stay under-whelmed. The room on the 6th floor was not what we would call cosy: more like small, with a bathroom that resembled a cruise ship that we once went on. On morning one we tried the free breakfast, which could best be described as a Japanese take on a western breakfast buffet: it was tasteless for the most part and did not remotely resemble any of the fantastic food that we so enjoyed in Aomori & surrounds. On morning two, we just didn’t bother with breakfast but instead munched on some juicy Aomori apples we bought from a local farm! Would we stay at this hotel again: No. All our hotels on this current northern Japan holiday have individually been different but terrific however, this one can not be ranked with those. Is it good value for $$$: we would suggest not: for less money we have stayed in Narita hotels, as an example, that left us saying WOW in comparison. Our experience would rate this hotel as maybe a 2.5/5, mainly for its superb location and the friendly staff. It is rarety on our travels to rate a hotel so low, however as an over 65, fit married couple, we believe honest reviews are an essential reference point. We hope this review is useful to you.
