Amelia Island hotel rooms a the Independent

"Our 6th time here..we love the hotel and closeness to beach...new policy is crazy though to pay for parking. Need to put it back the way it was with complementary parking to folks at hotel."

"The location was convenient for most of what I wanted to do. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is right on the beach, but due to that there were often people hanging out in the parking lot smoking near by etc... My room was fine; a bit awkward but fine for one person. The bathroom had many extras and storage which was nice. My windows faced the beach, but one whole side was blurred/smudged out I guess from being old. My room was near the elevator and it was very loud both nights. Sounded like many drunk people in the hallway. The breakfast and amenities were disappointing. The parking area was ok, but you are charged for it. I would pay a little more to stay somewhere else next time."

"Clean hotel. Room was spacious and comfortable. Finding registration was not easy and parking until registered was horrible. Hotel has great pool and bar."

"The room had no resemblance to the pictures on the website. It was tiny, it had holes in the flooring that needed to be repaired. There was no television. The room was located very close to a rock band next door that played until 11:00 pm. Worst of all, there were cockroaches in the bedroom and the bathroom. Breakfast was very good"

"We were surprised that we were pretty far from the main buildings. But it was quiet in our area."

"Large refrigerator, microwave, dishes and utensils are in the room. Also two grills outside by the pool and small fitness center. Excellent value overall."
