"A lovely cafe staff, ample breakfast, very modern rooms, awesome shower, great views, combined with a much appreciated "welcome pass" on the bus service. If I had any complaint it was that the rooms are a little small for a 4-day stay, and it would have been nice had there been laundry facilities."

"There is absolutely NO airflow in the rooms. They are designed to keep you warm, not cool. The still air was about 77F and unfortunately I am one of those travelers who needs either cool OR moving air (ie a fan blowing) otherwise I get very nauseous at night. I ended up getting sick and am still paying the price 3 days later as my vocal cords have not yet healed (no I was not drunk, this is a thing for some people when the body can’t expel heat). It is a great place for you if you do not mind still air, because the rest of the experience was exactly what we paid for."

While the parking was less than desirable, Daniel at the reception was kind and helpful in recommending public parking near the hotel for us. The room was amazing, the breakfast which was included, was the best we had in Europe and the location was very convenient to the old town and the train station. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Switzerland."

"Very easy check in, everything could be done straight from my phone. Our room had a beautiful view of the mountains, it was very quiet apart from being woken up by the church bells at 5 am but this is expected in many Swiss towns and villages."

"The most uncomfortable accommodations but inexpensive Appenzell you can’t be picky if you’re on a budget. The room, including the en suite bathroom is no bigger than a standard American bathroom, airless, windowless, and claustrophobic. We did not sleep, no air quality controls. However, the establishment is charming, the breakfast was ample and the staff is ultra kind and the hotel\restaurant is a five minute walk from the train station and superbly located- loved Appenzell and the surrounding outdoor activities that’s for sure."
