Enjoyed our stay

We stayed for 2 nights in the junior suites and had a great time. The front desk gave suggestions of things to see in the area and they were spot on. Very friendly staff and in a great location if you have a car.

Wonderful welcoming staff. Everything we needed including an unbelievable supper provided free of charge. We couldn't believe it. Breakfast was amazing too. Tbank you to everyone who made us so comfortable and feel so welcome.

Thon Hotel Aalesund Baronen Review

The front desk personnel was friendly and helpful. The room was nice. The bed was comfortable. There was a small refrigerator. The bathroom and shower were totally tiled, which was nice. The shower had a curtain instead of the typical glass doors which we liked better. It was great that both breakfast and dinner were offered. Breakfast was good both days with good options and variety. Dinner one night was thin soup and bread which was not satisfying. The hotel was across the street from a grocery store which was nice.

Our stay was great, room is spacious, heated floor in the bathroom and it’s close to this mall where we found a buffet Thai restaurant. The only thing I didn’t like was the breakfast choices, especially the scrambled eggs, choices are not as good of what we had in Sweden.

Very good hotel with friendly staff and compared to other hotels reasonably priced! We had an accesible room which was very roomy. The free dinner during the week was discontinued for summer break which was a pity. There were dining options in walking distance where you got 10% off food. Breakfast was very extensive but if you came a little later, not all options were still available. Cleanliness was good except the floor of the breakfast room which was sticky all of the 3 days we stayed there. Room was made up every day without having to ask, which was nice.

The rooms in this property are just fine, and the breakfast was very good, as is typical for Thon Hotels. However, the location was very odd for a Thon Hotel. The lobby for the hotel is shared with a bowling alley, and while the surrounding area is certainly not unseemly, it is mostly residential and there is virtually no place to dine. Again, this is not necessarily a bad review; we were just surprised because the other Thon Hotels we stayed in on this trip were quite nice, and this one was, in my view, a 2.5 star hotel. If you are just staying the night (as we did) the rooms and breakfast are very nice; but that is all you should expect.

The hotel is tired, which means it just looks dirty and run down. I know the staff do clean it so it’s clean just the perception is not there. The breakfast is to skip cold and unappealing, I saw a more experienced guest just made themselves a sandwich something I would recommend doing for breakfast

Good hotel, but a really miserable night.

Was going to give this a great review - the rooms are good sized, the beds are comfortable and the shower is nice. The breakfast was really good too - lots of options. Except that around midnight, the bad live music started at some near-empty bar directly under our room (on the second floor). Can't sleep, can't block it out - it reverberates through the thin floors. The road noise was pretty bad too. If you stay here, avoid Saturday and the second floor. And for the hotel - maybe avoid booking people in rooms directly above the music - or, soundproof it better.

Godt utvalg av forskjellig til frokost, noe som burde passe de fleste. Over gjennomsnittet med utvalg av glutenfritt for en som må passe på der. Hyggelig personale. Avtale med treningsstudio i nærheten. Gratis parkering utendørs rett ved hotellet. Hovedrom var veldig rent. Flisefuger bærer preg av ikke være helt rene.
