"We stayed at this hotel for two nights in May. Upon arrival after 4 PM, our room wasn't ready, and we were asked to wait another 15 minutes. Although I was tired, I was happy to enjoy the sun and warmth, especially compared to the weather in Sintra. This was our penultimate stop in Portugal before finishing our vacation and returning to Canada. The biggest disappointment was the hotel's layout. When we booked the package, we thought it was a single building. As it turns out, there are two: one stands right on the beach, and the second is about 500 meters inland. If this had been clearly stated, we would have been prepared, but it was quite a letdown. The rest of the issues became apparent during our stay: The Safe: The safe in the room is very old; I didn't think hotels still used safes that require a physical key. Elevators: Only one elevator seemed to work at a time (out of two). They kept switching the "Out of Order" signs from one to the other, even though they had just been working. Since the hotel was busy and the elevators are small (hard to fit more than 4 people), we mostly used the stairs. Amenities: I haven't seen a hairdryer like that in a long time—it felt very outdated. Also, there are almost no shelves in the bathroom to conveniently place personal toiletries. EV Charging: The parking was large and convenient with two lots available. However, the EV charger did not work. I tried two different mobile apps, but neither could locate it."

"we were very disappointed in our room. Our "resort view" was a patch of dirt. When I asked of a different room I was told there were none available, despite have booked months in advance. The room itself, while nice and comfortable, had multiple maintenance issues - a lamp where the electric cord literally fell out, the bathroom sink was missing a diffuser causing water to splash all over us when turned on, a shower that would drip after turning it off, and a hair dryer that would not stay on. Beyond the room, which most of the staff were delightful, we were frustrated when we went down to the beach late on a beautiful afternoon only to have the cushions on our chairs literally taken at 6:00. The next day when we went back we found we needed to pay 50 Euros for the chairs we sat in, something not mentioned in the literature or when we checked in. We had stayed previously at the Epic Sana Lisboa hotel in Lisbon, and were delighted at every turn by how attentive and caring the staff were, and how well maintained the property was. So we had high expectations about the "5-Star" Epic Sana Algarve. Not to be. I think they rely on location and setting than actually providing 5-star service. That's too bad, because it is a beautiful place."

"The location means you will get no sleep at all we asked to move room from first floor to third floor slight improvement but honestly unless you are going out all night partying don’t stay in this hotel. Also the bed and pillows were so uncomfortable. Only around 12 sunbeds for the whole hotel. Only good thing was the staff. "

"Great Stay. Room was comfortable and well kept. Great breakfast overlooking the beach. Centrally located to everything. Close to the strip, if that is what you're looking for, but far enough for peaceful sleep. Would highly recommend"
