The location was great, and quiet, on the main touristy street of the the old town. It was a very decent option overall, with lots of marble in the property, which gave it a luxe feel. However, in the room itself, it seemed a bit dated and in need of a deeper clean. The bed was very comfortable thought. A few things were a bit broken like the tea kettle that is made available, the towel rack, and the bathroom overall was not very user friendly.

The neighborhood offers two very fine osterias and is within walking distance of the central station. But the best part was the hotel suite, which is very tastefully decorated, spacious, and very comfortable.

Bait and switch hotel booking

On the morning of our arrival they told Us they had no water and moved us to another hotel they owned near by. We arrived and it was all locked up and I think the husband of the manager came And opened the door. They were going to clean and get the room prepared so we dropped off our luggage. We came back few hours later and they were just finishing. It appears the place was vacant and just opened and we were the only ones there. The place was nothing like where we booked, bathroom was awful and the street was very noisy. Early morning there was loud banging of cans outside and loud noise . It appears to be bait and switch booking scam. We gave our passport for photo when we got there and was told all set. Told them we were checking out at 10 next morning and was told just leave key in the room. We checked out next morning and told them via WhatsApp and no response until late that evening we need to pay and wanted my credit card number over WhatsApp. I contacted hotels site and said I am not giving them my number as I had no idea what they may do with my card number. Running transaction on the machine is one thing but this seems too fishy. We been on 3 week trip all over Italy and it Has been most dissatisfied stay to date.

My husband and I loved our sty at Atenea, the room was perfect, bed super comfy, shower had good pressure and everything spotless clean. Check in process was very easy and prompt. The apartment is located in the heart of Agrigento, with tons of restaurants and bars just minutes away. Highly recommended!

B&B centralissimo, prenotato last minute con un’ottima promozione per aver scaricato l’app di Expedia su mobile, interamente ristrutturato (alla perfezione!), all’interno di un palazzo storico, proprio sulla via Atenea. Pulizia impeccabile, davvero tutto splendente, non solo la stanza, ma l’intera struttura. Il proprietario, Alessandro, disponibilissimo e gentilissimo. Ci ha raggiunti nella piazzetta alla fine di via Atenea per consegnarci le chiavi, altrimenti saremmo arrivati tardi ad un concerto. Nella stessa piazzetta abbiamo parcheggiato gratuitamente al rientro dal concerto; in ogni caso, è possibile parcheggiare al parcheggio multipiano vicino. Con 10€ in più è prevista anche la colazione, che noi però non abbiamo provato perché impegnati con degli amici agrigentini (ottimo bar, il Concordia, proprio di fronte). Unico consiglio da dare, una macchinetta del caffè in stanza (noi avevamo la camera matrimoniale superior), ma c’era comunque un bollitore con bustine di the e zucchero. La stanza è provvista anche di un frigo bar (con bibite a pagamento). Altra pecca (ma solo per me), il soffione fisso della doccia e non estraibile. Se siete indecisi tra i vari B&B del centro storico, zona duomo, raggiungibili con scalinate infinite e tra vicoli stretti, prenotate questo. Assolutamente consigliato!
