"It is a classic hotel but the annex building is fully renovated and beautiful. The room was comfortable with nice amenities. It was so calm and peaceful. I loved the tea set they provided and enjoyed the room overlooking the garden outside. Had very comfortable beds. Staff was nice and welcoming. Breakfast was nice too. The only downside was lack of dinner options in the area. We did a room service one night and had their famous curryโฆ which was alright but expensive. We also had a meal at Meiji no Yakata nearby which was great. I think most restaurants were closed for dinner on weekdays though. There was a really good yuba place for lunch closed to the hotel."

"Unfortunately this property did not meet expectations and was grossly overpriced. The Japanese style room was very dated but a nice size. Good AC. The food was great and there were a lot of options. The property needed to be cleaned and updated. The area outside of the property is shocking. It is filled with abandoned buildings that are various states of disrepair. It felt unsafe. Transportation wasnโt great. I booked the bus- which is said to be an amenity- only to learn we had to pay getting off. Good thing I had cash. People were nice but Iโd never go back."
