"The room was clean and spacious, the Staff was fantastic in being both extremely kind and helpful. The restaurant was exceptionally good both the Breakfast and dinner entrees were excellent. I spent a few weeks at The Lighthouse and will absolutely recommend a stay. JB "

"Staff did not say hello or welcome us politely upon arrival, but did let us check in about 20 minutes early. Later in the day, we returned to the "shack", and noticed there was no hand soap in the bathroom, we asked for the WiFi password, and asked for the remote control to the television. We were then given some confusing excuse that the TV did not work due to compilcations due to the COVID lock down (which as we all know happened about 3 years ago at this point). The story about the unavailability of the TV became the sticking point in the minds of the couple running the hostel. When we tried to reassure the woman that we were disapointed about the TV, but were willing to go without, for some inexplicable reason she pressed the issue and began asking for forgiveness and walked away, only to come back to our room two more times, knocking heavily, insisting on speaking with us on the issue again! My wife asked her to stop disturbing us which she seemed reluctant to do. Finally, my wife felt uneasy after our interaction with the woman and insisted we find another hotel due to the uprofessional behaviour of the couple running the place and the unavailability of hostel staff. I regret leaving this negative review, but honestly do not understand why our experience is so different compared to other reviews here. The husband told me, that if we were not happy, to go ahead and complain to Expedia. I cannot recommend this place. Avoid at all costs, not worth the price or convenience."

"The staff struggled to find my reservation then told me our room was occupied and we need to pick a different room. rooms were not ready during their check in time. we found cockroaches and large spiders in the room when we finally got in. we left immediately. "

"Room is old, no hot water, no hair dryer. No phone in room. Too many stairs. View is not bad but very inconvenient, had to climb up and down for swimming pool and canteen. No one to call when check out, we had to climb up to ask the receptionist to 'zipline' our luggages up. Big suitcases will have issues I guess..."

"Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food were delicious too. Homecooked meals are the best! The view is amazing, very relaxing and you'll see some sea turtles in the ocean. Could use a place to hang or dry some clothes for sure. Its a little ways to town but is accessible with the tricycle."

"Please don't stay here. You'll get fleas. Pros: Staff are polite and seemed like very nice people. Overall very friendly, respectful, and accomodating with arranging activities in the area, which is awesome! Ocean Front property, AC works. Beautiful ocean view from the front door of the room. Now for the bad. Loudest hotel and area I've ever seen in a hotel. This has actually been one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. Keep mind this wasn't even a weekend. Its a Monday night. Cons: Non-stop noise and music until 2AM, then starts again at 3:45AM. People drinking and partying at the bar that is 30 feet from the front door of the room, and the smoking area with party tables is just right outside, 5 feet from your front door. There are animals everywhere, many stray dogs howling, barking, and fighting at night, ALL night, and into the day. Roosters start about 4AM. Paper thin walls. People talking outside of windows all night long, as they walk past or do stuff very nearby. It never stops, even during the relatively quiet period of 2am-345am. People were working on a car right beside the room, engines start running loudly in the area before 4AM. Trip people sat right outside under my window taking, The surrounding area is a bustling area of activity, so just be prepared if you decide to ignore this review and come here anyway.
