"We enjoyed our stay VERY much!! What a quaint hotel with a lot of history. Conveniently located downtown next to the locks and viewing area. Our room was exceptionally comfortable, spacious, and clean!! I LOVE the fact that our room on the 6th (top) floor only had 10 rooms as did the 5th floor. Very quiet!! The hotel staff was very friendly especially the front desk clerk at check in on July 3 and the bartender on the 4th of July! Someone was always cleaning….floors, windows, etc. We noticed and probably due to high volume of visitors for the 4th of July: no air conditioning in the lobby or bar and the breakfast items were sparse each morning. Another observation….we thought it strange to have a label (posted on the 6th floor) stating one must hold button to call the elevator."
