The Keeper of the Plains is a 44-foot tall steel sculpture standing at the point where the Big and Little Arkansas rivers join together in downtown Wichita. This land between the two rivers is sacred ground to the Native American people and is also home to the Mid-America All-Indian Center. The Indian Warrior sculpture was created by Wichitan and Native American artist Blackbear Bosin (1921-1980). "Staff was top notch. Room got upgraded for a miscommunication when they simply could have turned me away. Room was clean, plenty of towels and amenities. Fitness room has some size to it. Did not try the pool but poked my head in and everyhing was tidy. It is within walking distance of convenience stores and resteraunts. This will be my new stopping point when traveling. "
