Enjoy Lake Travis and all its recreational possibilities. The reservoir, which was built into the Colorado River in 1942, stretches nearly 64 miles (103 kilometers) long. Go fishing and see if you can catch the largemouth bass, catfish and sunfish that are in abundance in Lake Travis. Dive in for a refreshing swim; Lake Travis is renowned for its crystal clear water.

Check out the many parks located around Lake Travis. Use the boat launch at Mansfield Dam Park to put your canoe or motorboat in the water. Go windsurfing or scuba diving at Bob Wentz Park. Join other bird watchers at Dink Pearson Park. Hippie Hollow Park, located on the eastern end of the lake, is known as one of the few legal clothing-optional parks in Texas.

Lakeway has a surprising number of parks for its size. Find something to suit your interests at the play areas, trails, sports fields and more of the waterfront City Park. Follow Lakeway Boulevard Hike and Bike Trail all the way through town. Walk among dramatic geological features at Canyonlands. Take your family or your pet for a hike along Hurst Creek in the Smith Greenbelt.
