"This hotel is great and we couldn’t fault our stay until check out time..... we had already paid for the hotel prior to our stay yet we were asked to pay again for the room! Apparently the hotel has recently changed hands and there is some issue with the accounts transferring over so the hotel isn’t currently receiving the payments people are paying ( going to the old company). We politely explained that this was not our issue and we wouldn’t be paying for the room twice!! This just put a...

"A lovely hotel tucked away from the bustle but close for walking. Good check in. Room clean and pretty with free mini bar and lovely white company toiletries. Food very tasty in the tapas restaurant. Only downside is the executuve rooms are roadside, whilst there is secondary glazing its is quite noisy for traffic going past. "

"What a fun, convenient and historically rich place to stay. The location was convenient to transportation and anything was a short walk away. The room was spacious, bathroom luxurious, bed extremely comfortable and people friendly and helpful. How nice it was to enjoy a drink outside our room after a day of touring York with a snack in the shade. Being right beside the cathedral was a bonus. Late check in was no problem and staff stored our luggage safely after checkout. "
