Liouhe Night Market is the most famous of Kaohsiung’s nocturnal bazaars due to its central location and vast array of Taiwanese treasures for sale. 4. 85 Sky Tower

The Tuntex Sky Tower rises above the cityscape in the center of Kaohsiung at a height of over 1,200 feet (365 meters). It is among the tallest skyscrapers in Taiwan and has an intriguing shape with two twin towers connected by a third tower that extends from above the center. The shape was conceived to replicate a Chinese symbol that means “tall.”

5. Lotus Pond

Lotus Pond is a giant lake surrounded by pagodas, pavilions and markets in central Kaohsiung. Much of the city has grown around the lake, so the business district and many attractions also loom over the water. Stroll around the lake and admire the lotus plants that give the lake its name.
