The Duckwirth is one of my favorite places to stay when I visit St. John’s. It’s a very old property and that shows, but everything in the rooms are clean and well maintained. It’s attached to a restaurant and you can easily walk to most places downtown.

I've stayed here many times and love it. You couldn't be in a better location, easy walking distance to the major hotels and the George Street night life. While there is no front desk, the keypad system on the front door and room assignment on an interior door works just fine. The staff are friendly and helpful. On this particular visit, Mark and Josephine could not have been better. Kudos. I recommend this place highly.

There is no front desk to check in with as they provide you with a side door code from street level and then your name is listed to tell you what floor your on. When you get to the door your name is on an envelope that contains the key to your room and instructions. Supe handy and private, come and go as you please. Will definitely stay there again.
