Sindelfingen is a town near Stuttgart known for its textile and car industries and it attracts tourists with innumerable sights to see and the biggest street festival in Europe.

Sindelfingen lies just a few kilometres south-west of the capital of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Stuttgart, and on the outskirts of the Glemswald forest. The weaving school and weaving museum hark back to the significant 19th century weaving trade in this town. The weaving museum offers an interesting glimpse into the various weaving techniques and intricate production of different textile fabrics. The countless fashion boutiques and shops like Breuningerland on Tilsiter Street in the east of the town have made this traditional location their home and it is a popular spot to visit on your mini-break or short trip to Sindelfingen.

Sindelfingen was termed the fair town because of its enthusiasm for fair trade, sustainable consumption and safe production. The town has taken a stance for fair global trade and supports producers in developing countries through minimum prices, therefore ensuring a decent human existence for the workers. In 1915 the Daimler Motor Company began manufacturing in Sindelfingen. Today around 27,000 employees work in Daimler AG’s large car manufacturing factory. If you're interested in engineering there are fascinating factory tours available on your city trip in Sindelfingen.

The Roman Church of St. Martin’s, a landmark in Sindelfingen and one of the oldest churches in Baden-Wuerttemberg, towers proudly above the rooftops of the lovingly restored medieval timbered houses of the old town of Sindelfingen. The former abbey, today a basilica with three aisles, dazzles inside with a 900-year-old wooden ceiling, a masterful ceiling painting and a striking crucifix dating from 1600. The old city hall is an impressive half-timbered building built in 1470. Today its rooms are used to house the municipal museum where remarkable prehistoric collections with Roman and Alemannic artefacts from up to the 19th century are exhibited. The Würbenthal local history museum in the adjacent historic salt warehouse from 1592 is part of the municipal museum and tells stories of everyday life and trade in the region through interesting exhibits.

Treat yourself and your family to some much needed relaxation and fun on your city trip in Sindelfingen at the largest family swimming pool in the Stuttgart area. The complex is nestled in a romantic corner of a forest park on the north-east outskirts of the city and boasts a large swimming pool, diving pools with a 5-metre diving board, a 106-metre double slide, a kids’ play area and a sauna section. The adjacent outdoor pool excels with its 10-metre diving tower, adventure pools, beach volleyball courts and vast grassy areas for sunbathing. A special attraction on a trip to Sindelfingen is also the International Street Festival, which is one of the largest street festivals in Europe. It takes place on the third weekend in June every year and draws in visitors from all over the world for three days of international folklore and culinary delicacies.

"Great hotel and very clean, but there was a lot of construction nearby and the parking was a little confusing. I drove all the way down to the parking garage after pressing the button and had to carefully back all the way up the ramp. For the time being, the small lot behind the hotel was free but ..."
