"We had a great stay at the Tavern Hotel. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom was modern and large. We agreed that the shower was one of the best we had ever had. The free continental breakfast was at the sister property close by. The hotel is convenient to all that Old Town Cottonwood has to offer...so many restaurant options within an easy walk. We would definitely stay at the Tavern Hotel on future visits to Cottonwood."

"Beautiful hotel but on the older side. We stayed in a cottage. The living room needs updated or furniture that hasn’t been used quite so hard. Bedroom and bathroom were very nice. Outdoor shower was amazing. Staff especially valet and cleaning staff were wonderful. Turn down service was nice. Concierge also very helpful! Views were spectacular. Be ready to climb flights of stairs unless you want to wait for a staff to bring you up in a golf cart. Great exercise! Lovely hotel...

"I loved the property - it felt like staying at a beautiful hacienda, much like the Ponderosa on Bonanza. The complementary snacks were over the top. Loved the courtyard and all the little touches that mean so much - like spending time at a friend’s. The staff was superlative, and so friendly and helpful. My husband dropped his wedding ring down the shower drain, and they called in their handyman to try and retrieve it. And he did! Love El Portal - thanks for a great visit!"
