"Room rates are way overpriced for what they offer. I’ve stayed in nicer hotels in Thailand where I received a welcome drink, fruit basket, stocked minibar and more for half the price. None of these things were offered. The food at all outlets is shocking! I wonder if the GM ever eats there? My room was not very clean. Upon entering the room the floor was still wet from cleaning. The swimming pools are nice and location is good near to the beach, but I would not stay here again."

"Wonderful trip with my family of 5 to Sanya. The staff is as amazing and checked on us daily. The food was delicious and New Years Eve did not disappoint. My only recommendation is that they stock the bars with more cold drinks. We had to walk to get sodas that they happened to have. No coke and just a variety of coldish cans of sodas. Otherwise a fabulous trip! "

"The service was excellent and the team were incredibly helpful and always followed up. Gardens and landscaping amazing and heated pool area a real bonus. Beach area needed to be cleaned as plastic bottles, garbage and construction waste dotted along the front of the hotel beach area. "

"Hotel is dated and needs a refurbishment. The addition of a heat pool would allow for winter swimming like at other hotels in Sanya. Restaurants were limited in selection and tired. Location seemed away from the any other decent off-site dining so overall not a great location if you are looking for a winter retreat. "

"We wanted to experience Haitong Bay and had moved to Sofitel from a XiaoDong Bay hotel. Sofitel is definitly a superbly designed property and has some nice touches - kids pools, warm water pools, large lap pools, activity pools and a huge variety of places to lay, sit, rest, nest, swing outdoors. They gym was good, but it could have used a few more machines. I noticed they had a pole, for dancing! Staff were good, but sometimes could have been more proactive. My major complaint is the...

"Lovely two day stay at the Villa in Sanya, away from any crowds and a nice beachfront mostly to ourselves. Breakfast was quite good even if dinner on-site was more average, but quite close to downtown Sanya so plenty of local dining options within easy reach. Very pleasant little retreat!"

"Beautiful property, use of water- pools, fountains, overflows- particularly well presented and contributes to an atmosphere of calm. Numerous small sculptures representing all the birds on the island are a particular delight, too. Lagoon pool is gorgeous- shaded, winding and calm in areas even when children and families are playing in other areas. "I stayed in Mangrove hotel together with my wife for a short holiday. When checking in, we were told that we booked a twin room instead of a double room, but our reservation clearly showed Queen bed. Front Desk Receptionists Freya, William and Jessi immediately somved it and upgraded us a a family suite with 2 floors. We really enjoyed our stay in Mangrove and recommend this hotel for people traveling to Sanya."
