For starters, the staff that we talked to were all very nice.
Despite having a non-smoking room, we were immediately hit with a distinct smell of cigarettes. This smell would be apparent every time we entered our room during our stay.
The room wasn't very well cleaned or maintained. There were large water stains on the walls, as well as mystery stains on the desk chair, bathtub, and doors, and some things even felt sticky.
The TV remote didn't fully work, some of the light switches and outlets were non-functional, and part of the fridge was broken in a way that let the cold out. As well, the cables for a lot of these appliances were plugged into one extension cord that was hanging, held up by the cords of everything plugged into it, which just seemed hazardous.
There was dust all over the floor and walls, and a general grime; we didn't feel comfortable walking around without shoes on.
The towels and sheets were freshly laundered, but some had hardened bits of something that had dried on them.
The worst part of the whole thing was the cigarette smoke. As we're unpacking from our stay, we're finding some of our belongings have absorbed the smoke smell, which we now have to deal with.
