If you are going to stay at Colony I, do your grocery shopping before arriving. Closest grocery store is a 30 min. drive. Same with dining. Be mindful that there are few restaurants near the property, and after 6 PM it's a 30 min drive minimum. "

"If only we could have stayed longer! We had booking the glamping unit, but because of water issues Theresa switched us to the Bungalow, which was so cosy. She agreed alternative breakfast arrangements as we had to leave early on checkout. We only had time to meet the chickens and ducks at the doorstep, but we saw the donkey and goats sheltering from the rain! I would definitely recommend staying here if you're making a trip to Volcano NP. "

"Every detail has been thought of! The room was beautiful, spacious, comfortable, and had everything you could need!! You really feel like you have your own private jungle bungalow. "Hands-down the best place we stayed during our 2.5 week trip to Hawaii! Barry and Jim were wonderful hosts, we were greeted by Barry as soon as we arrived! He helped get us settled in and showed us around the cabin. The cabin comes stocked with breakfast items, coffee, and fresh fruits! "We absolutely loved staying at this secluded and peaceful location. The tropical forest surrounding us with its melodies was quite enjoyable!!
