Sandyport was the perfect place to stay away from the crowds that come to the Bahamas. We were not looking for nightlife, we were looking for peace and quiet. Our room was perfect, it was a little apartment whose door opened up right to the private beach, also a few steps away from the pool area. I spent the 4 days laying out on the beach reading and napping, it was glorious. The bed was very comfortable, we got the king size, we also had two bathrooms, for a couple, that was perfect. The entire shower needs to be replaced. The water pressure was not good, the faucet in the shower has seen better days, the floor on the shower was cracked. There was a jacuzzi in our room, we used it to throw the dirty towels, the drain part didn’t look too safe or clean, so it was not used. The first day, we had conch fritters and “cheesy sandwich” as presented as an option by one the guys; I stomach issues (use your imagination) for at least 24 hours. I think the oil and the fryer may not have been changed or cleaned in a while. We walked off the property to find the supermarket, which was well stocked but quite expensive. Our room only had 1 control remote for both TVs, we made it work. We had a few meals at the Blue Sail, aside from the seafood, everything seemed to be made out of instant ingredients (instant cous cous, instant rice, instant pizza). If you’re looking for peace and quiet this definitely is the place. Food options are limited, especially if it rains.

I arrived to the hotel around 8pm. There were several families waiting to check into their rooms. The hotel only had one staff member working at the time so the wait was very long. I had to travel a distance to get to the room and there was no staff to help with baggage. There were no outdoor lights so I walked in the dark while it rained heavily. I ended up walking through several deep puddles of water because I could not see anything. I barely slept because the guest next to me played music you could hear across the property until midnight and then started again at 6am. The property had a mosquito problem and I was eaten alive in the lobby and in my room. I would suggest paying more money and just saying at the Atlantis or Baha Mar.
