The Place Royal is a 4 story building located in the western border of old montreal facing the Port and a block off of the beautiful Rue St. Paul. It lacks a lobby and consists of spacious and clean apartments. The communication with "staff" is entirely through text who were very responsive. There was an issue with the front door, which is accessible by keycode, working properly and we had to rely on other guests letting us in for a brief period. It was a bit noisy with the nearby trains and club, but nothing that kept us awake at night. An amazing price for the location and the square footage.

The location was really perfect. Located minutes walk from cafes, restaurants, shops, bars of all kinds. Only blocks from Notre Dame Basillica. The apartment was very pretty, unique, well decorated. The historic rafters and exposed brick were beautiful. We had a couple of issues on entry to the unit that were addressed on-site within 15mins, despite there being no on-site staff. Housekeeping followed up without us needing to ask. The service was absolutely excellent. Some reviews talked about noise, we were directly above the “noisy” bar. It was not that bad, we did not use any of the provided ear plugs. Additionally, the bed was certainly firm, but not a stone. We slept just fine. We would absolutely stay again, especially now knowing the type of customer service they provide. Clearly pride is taken in this establishment.
