"This hotel says it is 4 star hotel. I would definitely not agree. The location is beautiful nature area near the water but the property is in serious need of attention. The immense amount of cobwebs in the pergola covered walking areas and dead vegetation in the gardens was frankly depressing and creepy. The carpet was in need of replacement 20 years ago easily. "A traditional Danish hotel, catering for the Danish market. Staff are superb - very friendly, cannot do too much to make you welcome, cope with late orders to the restaurant, always willing to help. Not cheap but excellent value for money. A bit quaint by UK standards but very clean and well presented. If you want to stay in Svendborg, stay here!"

"Checked out at 11. Sat in the common areas for 10 minutes to appreciate the nice decor, but as soon as peeked in to the restaurant, were seen to the door by the hotel manager, telling us to leave as they were closed. It was a grotesque situation. Unwelcoming attitude. Unapologetic. Won’t be coming back."
