The rainforest on the edge of Datai Beach ishome to plenty of animal life. Monkeys can often be seen leaving their home toforage for crustaceans on the beach. Other native residents of the area includepeacocks, hornbills, and iguanas.

If you’re only visiting Datai Bay on a day-trip,rent a car or motorbike from Kuah, Langkawi’s main settlement. Although thebeach is reserved for patrons only, you can still book lunch, dinner, or amassage in a hut by the rainforest at one of the resorts. Visit Datai Bay GolfCourse where the fairways weave been the forest, set against the stunningbackdrop of the mountains and the Andaman Sea.
Go for a hike in the surrounding mountainside area of Mat Cicang, andrelax in the waters beneath Temurun Waterfall, the tallest waterfall on theisland.
For a more snappy natural experience, head toLangkawi Crocodile Farm. The farm harvests a wide variety of baby and adultalligators and crocodiles for their skin. Buy a stuffed baby crocodile orleather products from the farm’s gift shop.
Datai Beach is off the main road on the northwest coast of Langkawi. Onceyou’ve left the main road, you’ll need to walk along one of the rainforest trails toreach the beach.
