What you can expect

    1. Jozani Forest – Nature & Wildlife
      Begin your experience with a visit to Jozani Forest, located within Jozani–Chwaka Bay National Park in Zanzibar. Explore the tropical forest on a guided nature walk and discover the island’s diverse plants, wildlife, and natural surroundings.
      One of the main highlights is the Zanzibar Red Colobus Monkey, an endemic species found only in Zanzibar. With the help of a professional local guide, you may observe these monkeys in their natural habitat and learn about their behavior and the forest ecosystem.
      Continue along the forest trails through areas of tropical vegetation, mangroves, and open surroundings. Your guide will introduce you to different plants and explain their traditional and cultural uses.
    2. Mangrove Boardwalk & Wildlife
      Visit the mangrove area and walk along the boardwalk while learning about this important coastal ecosystem. Depending on the season and conditions, you may also have opportunities to see wildlife such as bush babies, duikers, chameleons, and different species of birds.
    3. Butterfly Centre – Discover Zanzibar’s Butterflies
      Continue to a local butterfly centre, where you can observe a variety of colorful butterfly species at different stages of their life cycle.
      Learn about butterflies and their development while exploring the centre. You may also have the opportunity to see other small animals and insects found in the area, depending on availability.
    4. Spice Farm – The Flavors of Zanzibar
      After exploring Jozani and the butterfly centre, continue to a local spice farm and discover why Zanzibar is known as the “Spice Island.”
      Walk through the plantation with a local guide and learn how spices such as cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and black pepper are grown, harvested, and prepared.
      You will have the opportunity to smell, touch, and taste selected spices, herbs, and tropical fruits while learning about their traditional uses in Zanzibari cooking and everyday life.
      The experience may include seasonal tropical fruits, depending on availability. You can also browse locally produced spices and other products available for purchase as souvenirs.
    5. Return
      After completing the Jozani Forest, Butterfly Centre, and Spice Farm experiences, you will continue with your return transfer to your hotel or agreed drop-off point.
