During this activity, you will explore the beautiful Nungwi Village in the north of Zanzibar and learn about the local way of life. Your local guide will take you on a walking tour through the village, where you will see traditional houses, visit the local market, and meet friendly people from the community. You will also visit the famous dhow-building site, where local craftsmen build wooden boats using traditional methods passed down through generations. After your village walk, you will take part in a Zanzibar cooking class led by local chefs. You will learn how to prepare some of the island’s most popular dishes, such as Zanzibar Pilau, Urojo Soup, Seafood Curry, Chapati, Fresh Cassava, Breadfruit, Ndizi Nyama (banana with beef), and Kachumbari Salad. The chefs will teach you step by step using fresh, local ingredients. At the end of the class, you will sit down to enjoy the delicious meal you have cooked together. This experience is a wonderful way to discover Zanzibar’s culture, meet local people, and taste real Zanzibari food in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
