What you can expect

Explore one of northwest Yunnan's most secluded highland trekking areas on a carefully paced 5-day small-group route from Lijiang. This journey combines the Nanjiluo alpine lake circuit, Baima Snow Mountain scenery, the upper Yangtze valley, and the Abujicuo trail, giving strong walkers several very different mountain landscapes in one itinerary.

Day 1: Meet in Lijiang and attend a short safety briefing. Check your hiking gear, discuss altitude precautions, and stay overnight in Lijiang.

Day 2: Drive through the upper Yangtze region toward Tongle Village and Badi or Cizhong. Depending on road and permit conditions, stop for viewpoints, village scenery, and a gentle acclimatization walk. Stay near the Nanjiluo access area.

Day 3: Transfer by local vehicle toward the Nanjiluo trailhead and hike the classic alpine lake route. Expect high-altitude meadows, conifer forest, streams, and a chain of glacial-looking lakes. The standard walking plan is around 8 to 10 km and about 6 hours, adjusted by weather, group pace, and local access rules. Continue to Feilai Temple or a nearby overnight stop.

Day 4: Enjoy Baima Snow Mountain and Moon Bay viewpoints, then complete a moderate mountain walk of about 8 km, subject to weather and local road conditions. Continue to Shangri-La for the night.

Day 5: Hike the Abujicuo trail, a forest-and-lake route of about 13 km and 7 hours for fit travelers. After the hike, return to Lijiang and end the tour.

This activity is designed for travelers who already enjoy hiking and understand that mountain access, road conditions, weather, and local reservation limits may require adjustments. The guide will choose the safest available route each day.
