Next, surfers warm up on the sand while learning essential surf skills like paddling, board positioning and how to stand up. Coaches demonstrate techniques in a clear, encouraging way before it’s time to head into the ocean. In the water, young surfers are supported every step of the way as they practise catching waves suited to their ability. Coaches provide hands-on guidance, constant supervision and plenty of encouragement as surfers work on paddling, wave selection and riding techniques — all while having fun and building confidence.
