  • Welcome to the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayan Pagoda) complex, one of Xi'an's most iconic landmarks and a symbol of the prosperous Tang Dynasty. This serene area combines ancient Buddhist history, grand imperial architecture, and spectacular modern performances.
    This pagoda is ideal for photography. Our guided tour will take you around and lead you to the best photo locations.

    1. Da Ci'en Temple (大慈恩寺)
      Founded: 648 AD (Tang Dynasty) by Emperor Gaozong, in memory of his mother.
      Famous for: It was the home of Master Xuanzang, the legendary monk who traveled to India and brought back Buddhist scriptures. He translated over 1,300 scrolls here, making this temple the cradle of Chinese Buddhist doctrine.
    2. Giant Wild Goose Pagoda (大雁塔)
      Built: 652 AD under the supervision of Master Xuanzang to house the sacred scriptures, statues, and relics he brought back from India.
      Architecture: A magnificent 7-story pagoda (64m tall) in classic Tang Dynasty style. It's a UNESCO-listed Silk Road heritage site.
      Climb to the top: For panoramic views of modern Xi'an.
    3. North Square & The Musical Fountain (雁塔广场 & 音乐喷泉)
      Largest in Asia: The Big Wild Goose Pagoda Musical Fountain is one of the largest matrix fountain systems in Asia, covering 20,000 m².
      Spectacular Show: Features 22 dynamic water patterns (including a 60m-high water column), synchronized with music, lights, and even laser water screens.
      Best Time: Evening shows (after dark) are truly magical, with the ancient pagoda glowing in the background.
