This hike, which lasts about 3.5 to 4 hours, takes you along well-maintained paths through picturesque Trittenheim and the impressive vineyards around the town. The route is chosen so that it is pleasant to walk and offers beautiful views of the Moselle, the steep slopes, and the surrounding Moselle Valley again and again.
During the hike, fascinating insights into the history of the region, its geological formation, viticulture along the Moselle, and the cultural characteristics of the town of Trittenheim and its surroundings are conveyed in an entertaining way. This creates a living picture of how closely the landscape, viticulture, and history are connected here – from the geological foundations of the Moselle Slate Mountains to the traditional methods of working in steep-slope viticulture.
A special highlight is the stops at selected vineyards, where a small wine tasting of the wines grown there is offered. Of course, non-alcoholic wine is also available on request, so that all participants can enjoy the tasting.
The hike is deliberately designed to be easy to moderate and is therefore suitable for a wide audience. It is ideal for people aged 9 to 99 who enjoy exercise in nature, regional culture, and interesting stories about wine and the landscape.
